Two more monkeypox cases in Massachusetts
Boston, Massachusetts (WPRI) —The Massachusetts Public Health Service (DPH) announced two additional cases of monkeypox in the state on Sunday.
Two positive cases were found in two adult men who were in close contact with each other, according to health officials. The first test was completed on Saturday at the Jamaica Plain State Public Health Institute.

There are a total of 49 cases of monkeypox reported in the United States this year.
The CPH reminds residents that there are no outbreak-related deaths in the United States or worldwide, and only those in close contact with carriers are at risk. Infection occurs through direct contact with body fluids and monkeypox pain.
“Monkeypox infections are still rare, and none of the close contacts from the first cases in Massachusetts developed monkeypox during the monitoring period, but the CDC continues to increase cases across the United States. “We report that,” said Dr. Catherine Brown, a DPH state epidemiologist...
“It’s very important to be aware of and alert to the symptoms of monkeypox. People who are worried about a rash should contact their health care provider,” she continued.
