Dengue fever monitoring has been enhanced with Mysuru
In the Mysore area, where case reports have been reported since December last year, surveillance for dengue fever has been strengthened. Health authorities are doing their utmost to bring the case under control. The long dry spells after the May rain are a cause for concern as they can promote the breeding of Aedes aegypti carrying dengue fever.
Cases have not declined since December last year, and the Ministry of Health continues to promote surveillance and awareness to control mosquito breeding and transmission.
On average, 30-40 cases are reported each month, and from January to June 10th, about 177 cases are reported. Six cases of chikungunya fever have been reported during the same period.
The region, especially in the NR Constituency, which once reported more cases of dengue, has taken the advice of healthcare professionals seriously and has taken the necessary precautions. Cases decreased in these areas, but increased in the high-end areas of Misuru, such as Kuvempunagar, Dattagalli, and Saraswatiplan.
