Second confirmed monkeypox case in British Columbia
British Columbia health officials have identified the second case of monkeypox in the state.
According to the British Columbia Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the state confirmed the first patient on June 6. The second case was confirmed before June 14.
Both cases occurred in the Vancouver Coastal Health Area and were both travel-related, according to the BCCDC.
He added that the cases were not related to each other.
Currently, there are approximately 1,900 confirmed cases of the virus in more than 30 countries around the world.
As of June 17, 168 of these cases were confirmed in Canada, of which more than two-thirds were confirmed in Quebec. According to the Public Health Agency of Canada..
