COVID-19 Update: Dallas County Reports 601 Daily, Tarrant County Reports 605, Setting New Record

 


State officials again reported another record of hospitalization on Monday, increasing to 5,913.

For the first time, both Dallas and Tarrant counties reported over 600 daily cases on Tuesday.

Health authorities in Dallas confirmed 601 new cases, and Tarrant County authorities reported 605 cases. Both are records.

While Tarant County reported three coronavirus-related deaths, Dallas County reported the highest number of deaths per day: 20.

Among them, Dallas men in their 30s and Garland women in their 70s died at home. The remaining 18 people have been reported dead in hospital, according to health officials.

New cases of coronavirus are proliferating in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and other urban areas of the state.

Dallas County first reported 300 cases on the first day of June 10. Since then, the total number of daily cases has increased.

Health officials said more than half of the June cases were reported among people between the ages of 18 and 39. Officials at the authorities believe that the surge in cases is associated with this month’s “multiple large-scale recreation and social gatherings.”

Tarrant County Reports Three New Deaths, All from Arlington

Tarrant County health officials reported three coronavirus-related deaths Tuesday.

Each was a resident of Arlington. Two women in their 50s and men in their 70s were the latest victims of the disease, officials said.

Tarrant County has reported 228 confirmed deaths from COVID-19 since March.

The county has totaled 12,344 cases since tracking began in March. Health officials have reported that more than 5,200 people have recovered from the disease.

Record death toll from coronavirus in Dallas County

The county is currently counting 21,338 coronavirus cases and 373 deaths since follow-up began in March.

Health officials report an increase in COVID-19 in young adults. And about two-thirds of hospitalized patients are under the age of 65.

Kaufman demands that people wear masks

Free Dallas test at AAC ends

Officials said Tuesday that the City of Dallas and the County of Dallas have agreed to continue to offer free drive-through testing with private companies.
