Antibiotic resistant typhoid fever from Asia is spreading all over the world
(Bloomberg)-Resistant typhoid fever, primarily of South Asian origin, has crossed borders nearly 200 times in the last 30 years, according to a new study highlighting the growing global threat of antibiotic-avoidable infections. And jumped out.

For years, scientists have defeated the drums on an increasing number of deadly insects that can withstand treatment with the most powerful antibiotics. Recent examples include an increase in infections in the United States and a deadly fungal outbreak in India last year. In India, poor hygiene has exacerbated the abuse of antibiotics.

The findings are “the real cause of concern,” and Jason Andrews, an associate professor at Stanford University and lead author of the study, called for precautions to be taken, especially in high-risk countries.
