Michigan has added 10,681 COVID-19s in the last 6 days, killing 69 people
(WXYZ) —Michigan has added 10,681 possible cases of COVID-19 in the last 6 days, according to a new number released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
This was an average of about 1,780 confirmed cases per day, down from last week and significantly down from about a month ago.
According to the state, there were also 69 deaths from confirmed or possible cases of COVID-19.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Michigan and the death toll of 36,744 people from the virus, there have been a total of 2,592,078 potentially confirmed cases of COVID-19.
MDHHS has announced that it will publish COVID-19 case and death data on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.
Since May, when Metro Detroit was at high transmission levels, the number of cases has decreased significantly. Last week, the CDC returned most of southeastern Michigan to low-level community infections. High transmission levels are maintained in some parts of Michigan. All of these high-sending counties are located in northern Michigan.
