Wisconsin reports first confirmed case of monkeypox – NBC Chicago
Wisconsin health officials now state that there is the first confirmed case of monkeypox in the state.
The Wisconsin Department of Health said Friday that residents of Dane County were quarantined. The ministry said the risk of infection remains low for the general public. No further details were available regarding the patient.
Most monkeypox patients experience only fever, body aches, chills, and malaise. People with more serious illnesses have rashes and lesions on their faces and hands that can spread to other parts of the body.
