COVID-19 confirmed cases surge in Lake County – Lake County Record-Bee

Lake County — Last week, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 increased significantly in Lake County. On June 25, we had a total of 42 patients. Currently, 79 and 39 cases are active, and 4 people are currently hospitalized. At least half of the 37 increase was due to outbreaks in the farmer community and other cases were due to various causes. This pattern of spread indicates that there is at least infection from the community.

Last week, the first case of an outbreak in the farm worker community was identified, and the next day a stand-up test site was built, at which time more than 300 people were tested. Labs are slowing down at the state level, so the results are just beginning to come out and there are details that need to be checked with the appropriate documentation. For example, some of the people tested work in Lake County, but they live in another county and add to the total for the county they live in.

Agricultural communities and representatives of farm workers are all very helpful in testing and adjustment, collaborative, and their activities are put on hold until the spreads go well.

Some of the other cases involve some separate contact with people outside the area who were later identified as positive. Some new cases have no identifiable source.

Our process at the Ministry of Health with confirmed cases is to conduct a “case study” to get information about the likely causes of the infection, the people with whom they are in contact, and then education on isolation methods. When researching contacts, it’s clear that people wearing masks and engaged in social distances are reducing the number of friends and family getting COVID-19. People living in households with individuals who have other vulnerabilities to the underlying illness or severe complications need special attention.

Thankfully, most people who are recently infected have relatively mild symptoms. Newly diagnosed mildly ill people are stable and are quarantined at home by checking in daily with public health.

Four are hospitalized and none have been intubated.

Lake County climax consistent with statewide trends

The number of cases is skyrocketing in California, with 8,000 new cases identified daily. More than 6,000 Californians have died. Governor and health officials are concerned that deregulation and increased social liquidity have enabled this surge.

Lake County is not included in the list, but with the recent increase in incidents it is possible that it will arrive there within a few weeks. The added restrictions generally call for “closed work with indoor activities and mixed households in situations where it is difficult to cover the face.” Applicable departments are restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms, family entertainment (including cinemas), worship services, and bars (fully closed and no outdoor operations allowed). “

These additional restrictions are not currently required by Lake County, but they may be needed in the coming weeks to help control the spread of the virus. It also describes the types of activities users should avoid if they belong to vulnerable groups or if they are concerned about getting sick.

Personal choice slows adoption

At this time of epidemics in our community, personal choice is critical to limiting spread and ensuring that businesses and activities continue to operate.

Do what you can to support the community:

• Wear a mask when near other people.

This is especially important when:

• Indoors and around non-family members;
• Whenever you interact with someone less than 6 feet away,
• Sponsorship business;
• Stay in close contact with colleagues and customers even when you are out.
• High traffic areas or situations where it is difficult to maintain a social distance, such as vehicles, elevators, and corridors
• Avoid large social gatherings
• Keep a physical distance of 6 feet from people outside your immediate home
• Protect and support people who are vulnerable to serious complications
