The World Health Organization says clinical evidence has shown that two monoclonal antibody treatments are effective in saving the lives of many people struck by the deadly Ebola virus.
This action is based on a systematic review and analysis of randomized clinical trials of treatments for this disease.
Janet Diaz, WHO team leader for clinical care, said evidence supporting the recommendations came from two clinical trials.
She said the tests were conducted during the Ebola epidemic and show that quality control tests can be conducted even under the most difficult circumstances.
