UQ study reveals hot flashes and night sweats associated with heart attack in women
Women who suffer from postmenopausal hot flashes and night sweats are 70% more likely to have a heart attack, angina, or stroke.
A new study at the University of Queensland (UQ) reveals that women of all ages who experience vasomotor symptoms or these symptoms, also known as VMS, are more likely to experience non-fatal cardiovascular events became.

Professor Gita Mishra, the lead author of the study, said the findings could have significant implications for women in need of clinical treatment.
“This study helps identify women who are at increased risk of developing cardiovascular events and may require close monitoring in clinical practice,” she said.

However, researchers still do not understand why hot flashes and night sweats in women are associated with cardiovascular disease in women, but hormones may be associated with it.
