COVID-19 cases per 100,000 Ohioans fell for the third straight week.
The number of cases decreased by 4.1% compared to last week. It was a smaller decline than the previous two weeks when the number of cases fell by 7.8% and 7.5% respectively.
The decline comes after seven consecutive increases in the number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the state.
The total number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in Ohio remains above 1,000.
As of Thursday, there were 1,242 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Ohio, according to the Ohio Hospital Association.
Since July 14, the total daily number of COVID-19 infections in Ohio hospitals has surpassed 1,000 after more than four months of decline.
There were 361.4 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents in the two weeks from Aug. 11 to Wednesday, according to data provided by the Ohio Department of Health on Thursday.
Mahoning and Trumbull counties saw their third straight week of declines, while Columbiana counties saw an increase in cases. Both were below state averages.
