According to the highest infectious disease specialist, Ireland needs to be free of the virus for four weeks before it can be considered under control.
Prof. Sam MacConkey commented as frustrated holidaymakers continue to demand that the government clarify the flight abroad.

He told RTE Radio One’s Cormac O hEadhra:
