A food safety notice on the risk of hepatitis A from imported frozen berries, but without details on which brand and from which country.

People are advised to boil frozen berries at 85°C or higher for 1 minute before eating them.

This follows three cases of Hep A in people who regularly consumed imported berries and were linked by viral genotype. NZ Deputy Director of Food Safety Vincent Arbuckle talks with Lisa Owen.
