Emmanuel Mignot Receives Breakthrough Award for Discovering Cause of Narcolepsy | News Center
Emmanuel Migno, MD, PhD, and Professor of Sleep Medicine, Craig Reynolds, was awarded the 2023 Life Science Breakthrough Award. He will share his $3 million prize with Masashi Yanagisawa, MD, of the University of Tsukuba, who discovered the cause of narcolepsy and paved the way for new treatments for sleep disorders.

Minhotte became interested in narcolepsy research in 1986 when he persuaded the French government that, as part of his mandatory military service, he should be sent to Stanford University School of Medicine to study a narcolepsy drug developed by a French company.
