Yellow fever mosquitoes found in Merced County
The Aedes aegypti was found in the Legrand area, according to the Mosquito Control Area in Merced County.
They added that mosquitoes were found in Merced County for the third time since 2017.
The district says it is investigating the problem and will take steps to prevent the spread, including inspecting local housing.
“This is the third city to house Aedes aegypti, which was first detected in Le Grand, and the invasive Aedes aegypti in Merced County. Placing Aedes aegypti in our district is not suitable for Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, and Yellow Fever. Virus.”
