Muskingham County reported 120 more COVID-19 cases this week
Ohio saw a significant drop in coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, adding 14,536 new cases. This is a 29.3% decrease from the previous week’s tally of 20,552 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
Ohio ranked 18th among states with the fastest per capita spread of the coronavirus, according to the USA TODAY network, which analyzed data from Johns Hopkins University. In the latest week, coronavirus cases in the United States decreased by 0.6% from the previous week, with 401,433 cases reported. Ohio has 3.51% of the population and had 3.62% of her infected last week. Nationwide, 17 states had more cases in recent weeks than last week.
Muskingham County reported 120 cases and 0 deaths in the most recent week. A week ago, 182 cases and zero deaths were reported. Across the pandemic, 29,533 cases and 302 deaths have been reported.
Perry County reported 51 cases and 0 deaths in the most recent week. A week ago, 73 cases and zero deaths were reported. Across the pandemic, 9,696 cases and 130 deaths have been reported.
Across Ohio, 85 counties saw a decline in cases, with the largest decline in Franklin County, where 1,398 cases occurred a week ago, up from 1,946. Cuyahoga County had between 2,175 and 1,694 cases. Hamilton County has between 1,200 and 794 cases.

Within Ohio, Noble County had the worst number of weekly cases per capita, with 305 cases per 100,000 people per week. Pike County is 277. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, high levels of community transmission start at 100 per 100,000 people per week.
Cuyahoga County added the most new cases overall, with 1,694 cases. Franklin County, 1,398. Hamilton County has 794 he.
