Alzheimer’s Association Plans July Webinar | The Golden Times

• COVID-19 and nursing care, Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm: Taking care of people with dementia during the COVID-19 outbreak causes unusual difficulties. The program provides caregivers with simple tips whether a patient with dementia lives at home, a housing facility, or a caregiver comes to their home.
• 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, Wednesday and July 29, 1:30 pm: Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias cause memory, thought, and behavior problems that impair daily life. Learn to recognize common signs of illness. How to approach someone with a memory problem; the importance of early detection and diagnostic benefits; possible testing and evaluation of the diagnostic process, and Alzheimer’s Institute resources.
• Living with a Care Partner for Alzheimer’s Disease: Early Stages, Thursday 11am-1:30pm: This class covers common questions that families face during the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. What does diagnosis mean? What plan do you need to make? Are there any resources you can use? How can I handle it?
• Living with Alzheimer’s Disease for Caregivers: Late, July 28th, 11am to 1:30pm: In the later stages of Alzheimer’s disease, caregiving usually involves new ways of connecting and interacting with the sick person. This session will ask participants from caregivers and professionals about resources, monitoring care, and providing meaningful connections.
• Legal and financial planning of Alzheimer’s disease, July 15th, 11am to 1:30pm: The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease makes planning for the future more important than ever. The Alzheimer’s Disease Legal and Financial Plan is a two-way, two-way course that teaches you important legal and financial issues to consider, how to implement the plan, and how to access legal and financial resources near you. Program. It covers information for families and individuals dealing with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias.

• Meaningful activities: Maximize interaction with people with dementia 21 July, 11am to 12:30pm: Learn how to engage people with dementia and create meaningful personal activities from everyday tasks and interactions without spending time in caregiving .. The class will also teach participants how to make a personalized, portable activity bag ready to meet the calming, sensory and boredom needs of people with dementia. Note: This presentation is not suitable for people with amnesia.
• A healthy life for your brain and body, July 22 2-3:30 pm: For centuries, we knew that brain and body health were related. But now science can provide insights on how to choose a lifestyle and help keep your brain and body healthy with age. This class describes studies in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity, and social engagement, and provides practical tools to help incorporate recommendations into a healthy aging plan.
• Understanding and responding to dementia-related behaviors, July 23, 2:03:30 pm: Behavior is a powerful form of communication and one of the primary ways people with dementia communicate their needs and emotions as their ability to use language is lost. .. However, some behaviors may present real challenges that the caregiver manages. In this class, you will learn strategies that help you decipher behavioral messages, identify common behavioral triggers, and intervene in some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.
