US Environmental Protection Agency Approves Use of Lysol Disinfectant Spray for COVID-19

(Reuters)-UK-based Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc (RB.L) On Tuesday, it said the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved the use of Lysol disinfectant sprays against COVID-19.

The US EPA said in a statement that it has approved two products, Lysol Disinfectant Spray and Lysol Disinfectant Max Cover Mist, based on laboratory tests showing that the agency is effective against COVID-19.

Reckitt Benckiser reports record sales growth in the first quarter and exceeds expectations in 2020 as customers replenish Lysol antiseptics, Mucinex cough syrup, and Dettol soaps prior to coronavirus blockade Predicted performance.

“Rysol is currently testing the efficacy of other disinfecting products in its brand portfolio,” Ferran Rousseau, Risol’s marketing director, said in a statement.

Lysol’s parent company warned people not to use antiseptics to treat the new coronavirus, after US President Donald Trump proposed that researchers try to put the antiseptic in the patient’s vein.
