EPA approves two Lysol disinfectants tested to kill surface novel coronaviruses
The agency announced on Monday that two products were approved last week, Lysol disinfectant spray and Lysol disinfectant maximum cover mist. Lysol Said in a news release The Lysol antiseptic spray “was found to kill the virus in 2 minutes of use.”

Two Lysol products named Monday are the first products tested directly against SARS-CoV-2. EPA expects to approve additional products in the coming weeks.

Andrew Wheeler Said in a news release.. “The EPA’s review of products tested against this virus marks a significant milestone in President Trump’s holistic approach to combating the epidemic of COVID-19.”
“Hygiene is the foundation of health and is essential to prevent the spread of disease-causing bacteria,” said Rahul Kadyan of Lysol’s parent company, RB. “EPA approval has acknowledged that the use of Lysol disinfectant sprays helps prevent COVID-19 from spreading on hard, non-porous surfaces.”
The company said it is continuing to test other disinfectant products in its portfolio against the new coronavirus.
