Utah COVID-19 Update: Record new 722 cases in the last 24 hours. 7 new deaths

UTAH, July 7, 2020 (Gephardt Daily)-Heath, Utah, has reported another 7 deaths and new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in 722 labs in the last 24 hours, Utah. Is the largest number of cases per day so far.

The dead people were:

• A 45-64 year old male from Utah who was not hospitalized at the time of death
• A 45-64 year old man from Utah County who was hospitalized at the time of death
• A 65-84 year old woman from Utah county who was hospitalized when she died
• Men aged 65-84, Washington County resident, long-term care facility resident
• A woman over 85 years old, living in a nursing home in Salt Lake County
• Men aged 65-84, living in Salt Lake County, resident of a nursing home
• A 45-64 year old man from San Juan County who was hospitalized at the time of death

The total death toll in Utah is currently 201.

Dr. Angela Dan, a Utah epidemiologist, issued the following statement according to today’s numbers: “Today’s positive cases represent another daily record, further highlighting the need for Utah residents to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves and others. Wear a mask at, keep a physical distance, stay home if ill and wash your hands regularly. We’re all part of the solution.”

The new 722 cases bring the number of Utah to 26,755 positive cases, an increase of 2.8% daily from 24 hours ago.

The number of tests performed was 385,760, an increase of 2,911 tests from yesterday’s report. Of those tested in Utah, 6.8% were positive.

There are 1,653 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Utah. Currently, 197 patients are hospitalized, an increase of 49 since yesterday.
