Sacramento Coronavirus Test Site Reopens
The site was closed because UC Davis, a former county regional clinic partner, had “supply chain problems” amid a nationwide lack of test kits.
Sacramento, California — A few days after announcing the closure due to lack of testing, Sacramento’s health officials said it has reopened five community test sites across the county with the help of the California Guard.
Five coronavirus test sites were first launched in certain areas of the county as a way to increase testing in disadvantaged communities that are disproportionately affected by the virus.
The site was closed because UC Davis, a partner in the county’s communal clinic, was having “supply chain problems” in the shortage of test kits across the country.
The California Guard’s transportation and analysis team is intervening to help the county temporarily reactivate the testing site.

- Tuesday, July 14: Natomas Integrated School District, 1931 Arena Blvd.
- Wednesday 15 July: 3525 Norwood Ave, Robertson Community Center
- Thursday 16th July: Maple Neighborhood Center, 3301 37th Ave, Room 7 at La Familia
- Friday 17 July: South Sacramento Christian Center, 7710 Stockton Blvd.
The fifth site, previously closed, Tetteh Pediatric Health’s clients will serve at the South Sacramento Christian Center instead.
The test site will be reopened first, providing the test to those who have previously scheduled an interview with the test clinic and have not yet taken the test somewhere. After these tests are complete, the county officials state that “the operation of the site will be reassessed weekly.”
The California Guard was previously in Sacramento, running small community pop-up test sites at various county libraries. The next pop-up event not related to the resumption of the test site is the Valley High Library at 7:30 am on Thursday, July 9th.
County officials say testing at the site is on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited testing capabilities.
