A further three Humboldt county populations tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of people infected with the virus to 157. Six more have tested positive, but they are visiting family and friends and do not live in Humboldt County. These six cases are not included in the county total.
Dr. Teresa Francovich, Humboldt County Health Officer, said these cases were not reflected in the total number of cases, but said they needed to follow safety measures such as maintaining social distance and postponing or canceling non-essential trips. He pointed out that he would emphasize further.
“Each of us can make choices to mitigate the effects of this pandemic,” said Dr. Franckovich. “Each of us can choose to wear a facial cover when we leave the house. Each of us can choose to stay at home rather than attend a celebration or gathering. Our communities have been resilient when we work together, and working with each other has never been more important.”
