According to the state, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus deaths in Massachusetts increased from 25 to 8,053. As the main indicator used by the state to monitor resumption, the number of confirmed cases increased by 177 to a total of 105,138.
The state also reported no new probable deaths, with a total of 215 and a total of 5,759 with 118 probable cases.
On Thursday, the state also reported that 9,648 new individuals had been tested for coronavirus, bringing the total number of individuals tested to 920,002. The total number of tests performed amounted to 1,171,180. And the state reported that the new antibody test was completed for 1,267 people, bringing the total to 78,417.
The two main metrics that the state is monitoring because one can fall and one can remain stable while allowing the business to resume upwards.
The 7-day weighted average of the positive tests remained stable at 1.9% for four consecutive days on Wednesday. Since June 18, this indicator has been between 1.8% and 2%. The current figures represent a 93% drop from the highs in mid-April.
The three-day average of hospitalized coronavirus patients rose to 639 as of Wednesday, up from 629 the previous day, but down 82 percent from mid-April.
The number of hospitals using surge capacity dropped slightly from five on Tuesday to four on Wednesday, down 81% since April 15.
The three-day average of deaths from confirmed cases of coronavirus infections increased to just 19 on Monday. It has decreased by 88% since mid April.
Other states across the country continued to address the outbreak.
In Florida, health officials reported 120 new deaths from the coronavirus. This is the highest daily increase of new infections. (The last high was reported at 113, and the beginning of May.) The state also reported more than 400 patients being hospitalized with an increase in hospitalization of 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the death toll in Arizona has exceeded 2,000, and state health officials have reported new highs in hospitalization and ventilator use. Arizona has emerged as a nationwide hotspot since Republican governor Doug Ducey eased restrictions on his home in mid-May. The state recorded Wednesday that there were 3437 patients hospitalized, and there were 575 ventilator records. 1,980 emergency room visits for 861 patients in the ICU bed and the virus were just a few of the records recorded this week.
