California Public Health Department Adds Placer County to List
Placer County hospitalization rose by 36.4% on average over three days, approaching the peak number of coronavirus patients in the county.
Auburn, CA — The California Department of Health added Placer County to the data monitoring list on June 9 after the county crossed the state count threshold and hospitalization began to approach the county peak. ..
Amy Sisson, director of public health at Place County, told ABC10 on Monday that he expects the county to be added to the list shortly.
“The state threshold for enrollment on the watchlist was 100 per 100,000, and today we exceeded this threshold to 101.4 using local real-time data,” Sisson said.
The average 14-day coronavirus infection does not list Placer County, but hospitalization is increasing.
“Similar to our hospitalization, the state sees an average of three days of hospitalization, the threshold has increased by 10%. And compared to the previous three days, the number of hospitalizations was That’s a 41% increase over three days,” Sisson said Monday.
Today, Placer County hospitalization increased by an average of 36.4% for patients with coronavirus over three days. Also, at the Placer County hospital, ICU bed availability was only 19.6%, just below the state threshold during a pandemic.
The county and the California Department of Health will work to mitigate the situation by:
- Work with community-based organizations to provide guidance and support to residents of large households where isolation is difficult.
- Public messaging about the importance of not meeting with non-household members.
- Encourage the business community about the importance of temperature checks, symptom screening, staff and customer face coverage, and the support of staying at home for sick and exposed employees. And
- Study a surge plan in cooperation with the hospital and implement it if necessary.
