New article shows promise of psychedelics without hallucinations
New article “Pharmacological mechanisms of non-hallucinogenic 5-HT”2a The Agonist Ariadne and Analogues” uses data from past clinical trials and new pharmacological tests of drugs to demonstrate that Ariadne and other chemically similar compounds exert clinical effects without inducing hallucinations. A hypothesis about the method is outlined.
The article also reports tests performed by the authors in mice that have all the key features of Parkinson’s disease exhibited by humans. Symptoms improved rapidly after treatment with Ariadne, but more research is needed to determine whether Ariadne may help people with the disease.
