Oregon predicts coronavirus’exponential growth’

Oregon has reported 232 deaths since the pandemic arrived in the state in late February. The state’s chief medical officer, Dr. Dean Saidlinger, said the relatively low mortality rate was positive, but scientists said inflammatory complications in children can lead to long-term physical and mental damage. According to the Gazette Times analysis of OHA figures, the mortality rate of COVID-19 cases has dropped to 2.1 (see figure) for all cases on Thursday. It was 3.4% on June 9 and 3.9% on May 9.
