Two Kelowna hotels confirmed exposure to COVID-19 in early July, more places to come
VANCOUVER-Health officials issued a public warning of possible COVID-19 exposure in Kelowna after eight people carrying the virus spent time in the city’s downtown and waterfront areas.
Interior Health requires all attendees in private gatherings at the following locations and dates to be self-isolated and carefully monitored for COVID-19 symptoms:

Contact tracking is currently underway, but health officials say those who may have been exposed to the virus should monitor symptoms for the time being.
People staying at Discovery Bay Resort and Gylo Beach Lodge on a particular day are instructed to self-isolate, and those who spend time in downtown Kelowna and the waterfront area are asked to monitor their symptoms.
Common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

Other mild symptoms include runny nose, fatigue, body aches (muscle and joint aches), diarrhea, headaches, sore throat, vomiting and red eyes.
“We have asked all who attended these days’ events to be carefully monitored for symptoms, given the number of incidents and where they might be associated,” Interior Health said in an advisory.
According to Interior Health, the health team keeps track of where the six people went during the trip to Kelowna, and plans to publish more specific locations as the investigation progresses.
Healthcare workers are also reaching out directly to potentially exposed people.
In the original advisory, Interior Health said that major events on Canada Day and Holiday weekends were “particularly of concern”.
Six of the eight confirmed COVID-positive people live outside the interior health area, officials said. Investigators are still working to identify how they first contacted the virus.
