Blind people are better than sighted people when it comes to sensing their own heartbeat, according to a new study.

Researchers connected pulse oximeters to 36 blind and 36 age- and gender-matched individuals with perfect vision. Each participant’s heart rate was measured scientifically, but they were asked to count their own heart rate without checking their pulse or touching their own body.
