Like many of us, guest Jana Reventon has dealt with quite a bit of stress in her life. But after she survived the COVID-19 pandemic and grappled with the ongoing war in Ukraine (with relatives on both sides of the border), her Yana’s stress levels reached new highs. This week’s episode is about rebuilding your relationship with stress. Jana spent the week practicing new exercises every day. All seven practices were aimed at managing different aspects of stress, from the physical metabolism of exercise-induced stress to visualization and breathing techniques. She began to see stress as a normal and necessary part of life that was actually beneficial in the right amount. We speak with psychologist Elissa Epel, who developed a stress management tool. She explains the importance of building positive relationships with stress and how you can use stress to feel empowered.
