Lansing, Michigan (WILX) – Every year, 356,000 Americans die suddenly and without warning from cardiac arrhythmias.
And it’s not always the elderly or unhealthy people, every hour someone under the age of 18 dies from an unexpected heart attack.

Major symptoms include fainting, seizures, or shortness of breath during exercise, and being startled by a doorbell, alarm clock, or phone.
Etheridge said to be on the lookout for any family members experiencing sudden, unexpected or unexplained deaths before the age of 40.
“They never put two and two together and know that one car crash or drowning is actually a SADS condition,” Etheridge said.
SADS can usually be treated with just one beta-blocker a day.
“I’ve been perfectly healthy and asymptomatic all my life,” Tia said. “The other kids were totally wild kids. You would never imagine they were on beta-blockers.”
