TMH seeks plasma donation from COVID-19 survivors
Tallahassee, FL (WTXL)—Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare seeks to donate convalescent plasma to those who have a coronavirus to help treat current COVID-19 patients.
Hospitals say our community needs plasma to provide the treatment they need.
Plasma collected from COVID-19 patients contains antibodies that may be important for the future of combating this disease, according to TMH.
During this difficult battle against the coronavirus, the United States government is supporting a nationwide extended access program to collect convalescent plasma therapies and provide them to patients in need.
TMH is currently partnering with academic, government and industry partners as a partner in Mayo’s Extended Access Protocol Program.
