New Brunswick Reports One New Case for COVID-19
A person in their 20s from the Halifax-Moncton region has the latest confirmed case of COVID-19 in New Brunswick.
In a news release Tuesday afternoon, New Brunswick Public Health Service said the incident was “related to a trip outside the bubble of the Atlantic” and people were isolated.
“Each new case reminds us that the virus can always show itself,” said Dr Jennifer Russell, Chief Medical Officer of the State Department of Health. “We need to be aware of our surroundings and take precautions to protect ourselves and others so that New Brunswick can continue to maintain its yellow recovery level.”
167Th Cases confirmed in the state since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 163 recovered and only two were active. Two people were killed by the virus.
As of Tuesday, New Brunswick Public Health staff conducted 46,927 tests.
Take precautions
The state reminded people of the precautions they can take to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the community.

Maintain a physical distance (2 meters or 6 feet);

Wear a community face mask if maintaining physical distance is difficult.

Limit contact with people at high risk, such as the elderly and people with chronic health conditions.

Clean and disinfect the high-touch surfaces frequently.

Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the toilet, when preparing your meal, and before eating. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
