Ludhiana police get pulse oximeter while health workers blame lack of proper face masks-Urban
When it comes to fighting the battle against Covid-19, Ludiana’s two government departments stand in contrast to each other.
While government health workers have protested with as basic amenities as face masks when dealing with Covid-19 patients, police have arranged special health kits for staff.

“Pulse oximeters have been passed to police officers who had previously tested positive, especially those in home quarantine with mild symptoms,” said police chief Rakesh Agrawal.
“If the oximeter detected oxygen levels below 95%, they were instructed to call authorities concerned about hospitalization,” the committee member added.
“So far, 55 police officers have been infected. 27 have recovered, but 28 are still being treated,” he said.
In addition to providing them with a free kit, police authorities conduct interaction and counseling sessions with infected police officers to boost their morale.
