California’s nursing homes remain a hotspot, as coronavirus cases are skyrocketing across the state. A recent public opinion poll from the California Healthcare Foundation states that 3 out of 4 employees surveyed have known or suspected a case of COVID-19 among staff at the facility. .. About 20% of the respondents say they can’t, or only in some cases, can take the test. One in four say they still don’t have enough PPE. The California Long-Term Care Workers Union says many of their workers, women and people of color, cannot afford to evacuate into place and instead go to work.
