The results revealed cancers that were flagged as PanSeer in 88% of participants who had already been diagnosed, and in 95% of those who had not been diagnosed with cancer but later developed it. The test had a 96% chance of correctly identifying patients without cancer.
The study has limitations, such as being based on a relatively small number of samples, sub-optimal storage, and teams expressing concern about potential contamination. The test also does not identify what type of cancer an individual has.
