9 years old is the youngest to die in COVID-19 in Florida
Putham County, Florida—Kimora “Kimmy” Lynam is the youngest person to die of COVID-19 complications in Florida. She died on July 17th.
According to the latest record from the Florida Department of Health, she is the fifth minor to die of a virus in the state.
Family spokesman De Jon Cain said CNN Kimora had no health problems for a long time and her mother took her to the hospital because of the high fever. The hospital sent her home, and she fell down shortly after, Cain said.
“No one deserves this. She can’t just express what’s amazing. And she never had the chance to live her life, but she was always happy, she was. Resilient, she was an extroverted young woman,” said her cousin Dejon Kane. WCJB..
Cain also said CBS 4 Kimora was the only child of her mother, and her 9-year-old father was murdered last month.
“This is like a double punch,” he said. “It was very difficult, we buried him, and now we are buried her. The family is in trouble.”
The family told CNN they weren’t sure how Kimora was infected with COVID-19.
