LA County reports 1,703 coronavirus cases, 10 deaths on Sunday – but results are still labeled incomplete – Daily Breeze
Los Angeles County reported 1,703 new cases of COVID-19 and 10 additional deaths on Sunday, July 26, with a total of 173,995 cases and 4,360 deaths in the county.
Officials said Sunday’s figures were incomplete due to delays in the state’s electronic lab reporting system, and the number of cases is expected to increase in the next few days as data become available.
On Saturday, the county reported 3,628 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and 53 deaths.
The daytime report did not include the latest figures for Pasadena and Long Beach, which operate their own medical departments.
Pasadena posted 22 new cases, totaling 1,897, but no new deaths added to 104 victims. Long Beach has not posted a new number as of Sunday afternoon. As of Friday, the city reported 161 dead and 7,368 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, there are 2,033 confirmed cases hospitalized with the virus, with 31% receiving intensive care. But officials said there were a total of 2,628 confirmed and suspected hospitalizations, with 16% of these people using ventilators.
The admission data is incomplete because the data for the six unreported hospitals were not included in the Sunday update.

Test results were available to approximately 1.64 million people, with 10% of all being positive.
