HIV pop-up testing is being carried out across Teesside.
A pop-up clinic offering free HIV tests is being held in Teesside as part of a national campaign.
Hartlepool residents can attend St Aidan's Church from 09:30 to 12:00 GMT on Thursdays and from 13:00 to 16:00 at Community Hub Central.
Meanwhile, testing will take place on Friday from 09:30 to 12:20 at Redcar Place, Redcar.
The tests are carried out quickly and confidentially by the Terrence Higgins Trust, which has provided tests to more than 3,500 people in the region over the past seven years.
Since April last year, we have carried out tests commissioned directly by local authorities in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar, Cleveland and Hartlepool.

Terence Higgins Trust Teesside service manager Anthony Young said people were sometimes “worried” about getting tested or “don't have the time”.
“By conducting tests in community spaces such as churches and universities, we want to show how fast, easy and convenient HIV testing can be,” he added.
“Today, if you test positive, with effective treatment you can live as long as anyone else and reduce the amount of virus in your blood to undetectable levels, preventing you from transmitting HIV to your partner.” can be prevented.

“Testing is not something to be afraid of or embarrassed about,” he said.

The latest available statistics show that the overall number of people diagnosed with HIV in England increased by 6% from 2,313 in 2021 to 2,444 in 2022.
