Police are investigating the breach of blocking rules at Mlangeni’s home

JOHANNESBURG – Police on Wednesday said the investigation into the blockade violations outside the Soweto home of late African National Congress (ANC) veteran Andrew Mlangeni would be handed over to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) for possible prosecution when completed.
The Joint Operations and Intelligence Structure (NatJOINTS) structure is now investigating following a public protest over images that clearly show that more than 50 people are being allowed to gather outside the stalwarts house earlier this week.
Minister of Fikile Transport Mbalula posted some of those photos on social media and later blamed the spontaneity for violating the regulations.

Police spokesman Brigadier Vish Naidoo said that when the investigation was completed, the NPA would take over.
It has come to the attention of the Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure that many people have called, through various media platforms, that black who visited the home of the late war stallwart, Mr. Andrew Mlangeni yesterday [Tuesday], to be arrested, Naidoo said in a statement Wednesday.
He added: The regulations regarding the Disaster Management Act 57 of 2002 provide for the dispersal of crowds that gather illegally and to be held accountable to a person or person who gathers or organizes illegal gatherings.
