Hundreds of Kent children have received MMR shots since January as measles threat looms
Hundreds of children in Kent have been given MMR shots since late January as county health officers act to avoid a measles outbreak.
Extra slots were created at clinics across the county during the half-term break to allow parents to bring their children in if they forgot their jab. Five clinics were held on Saturday alone.
Measles outbreaks have already occurred in the Midlands and London. MMR vaccination rates are at their lowest in more than a decade, raising concerns that unvaccinated children and adults may be more susceptible to infection.
