Another NASA astronaut and current Expedition Commander 63 Chris Cassidy will join the SpaceX Demo-2 test flight crew for the 30-minute press conference, which will be broadcast live on NASA Television and Agenda Website just two days before Behnken and Hurley intend to return to Earth.
Weather permitting, NASA and SpaceX are targeted 2:42 pm EDT on Sunday, August 2, for splashdown and completion of the Demo-2 test flight mission, which is part of NASA Commercial crew program. SpaceX Crew Dragon, called Endeavor, arose on 30 May on Falcon 9 rockets from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
This is the final SpaceXs test flight in NASA’s commercial crew program and will provide performance data on the Falcon 9 rocket, the Crew Dragon spacecraft, and ground systems, as well as in orbit, docking, landing, and crew return operations.
