Disney on Ice may have exposed civilian to measles case at Dayton area medical building
Another Montgomery County resident has also been confirmed to have measles.
There are two known locations where the person may have exposed others to measles.
- The Disney on Ice show will be held on March 8th at 7pm at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati. Anyone who attended the show or was in the building within two hours after the show ended may have been exposed to measles.
- March 13 from 12:55 to 4 p.m. at one of our offices at Sugarcreek Health Center, 6438 Wilmington Pike.
Anyone who will be in these locations on the specified dates and times is encouraged to notify their local health department.

This is so the department can assess vaccination status, provide information about the signs and symptoms of measles, and inform people of next steps to protect themselves and others. .
Measles is highly contagious. Children infected with measles can spread it to others even before they develop symptoms. The measles virus can survive in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves the room. If an unvaccinated person gets measles, 9 out of 10 will become infected.
Symptoms may not appear for up to 21 days after exposure to someone with measles.
Symptoms of measles include a high fever, cough, runny nose, watery eyes, and rash that starts 3 to 5 days after other symptoms appear.
Measles can be serious, and about one in five people who contract measles are hospitalized with complications such as pneumonia, dehydration, and swelling of the brain.
If you have symptoms, avoid contact with others and seek treatment from your health care provider.
Health officials are advising people to call their health care provider before arriving if they are concerned about measles symptoms to prevent the spread of infection.
