Measles case reported in Lake County, Illinois – NBC Chicago

Amid a recent increase in measles cases in the city of Chicago, health officials in Lake County, Illinois, reported the first case of measles in a county resident.
County officials say the cases are linked to an ongoing outbreak in Chicago.
While the Illinois Department of Public Health is working to identify and notify individuals who may have been exposed to measles, health officials identified two locations where members of the public may have been exposed to measles and the response. We have identified a period of time.

Officials say anyone who was infected at Advocate Condell Medical Center and has not been vaccinated should contact their health care provider or pharmacy to immediately receive the MMR vaccine to prevent measles. .
According to IDPH, people who are unvaccinated, pregnant, infants under 6 months of age, or who are immunocompromised and have been exposed anywhere should still receive immunizations to prevent illness. You may be eligible to receive Globulin.
Officials say people who have been vaccinated against measles are likely protected and do not need to take any further action.
In addition to getting vaccinated, unvaccinated people who may have been exposed at any location are asked to contact the health department's infectious disease team at 847-377-8130.
