Sometimes back, it was reported that Tollywood blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramloo would be remade in Tamil. Now media reports suggest the film will have Sivakarthikeyan as the lead actor and Hip hop Adhi will compose the music for it. Ala Vaikunthapurramloo, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, had Allu Arjun as the lead actor and Pooja Hegde as the lead female role. The fun movie was a blockbuster mega-venture, though it did lock the horns with Mahesh Babu actor Sarileru Neekevvaru. The family artist, released on January 12, had music composed by Thaman and it is jointly produced by S Radhakrishna and Allu Aravind. Along with the main cast members, the film has a huge ensemble cast that includes Sushanth, Navdeep, Nivetha Pethuraj, Jayaram, and Sathyaraj in supporting roles.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan has two movies in her kitty, including Doctor and Ayalaan. Led by Nelson Dilip Kumar, Doctor has music from Anirudh Ravichander and only one track called Chellamma has been released recently. On the other hand, Ayalaan, directed by Ravi Kumar, has music by AR Rahman. Both film shoots were halted after the imposition of the COVID 19 lockdown. The filming of the films is expected to resume once the pandemic situation is brought under control.
