Chicago health officials warn of rise in invasive meningococcal infections
Chicago (CBS) — The Chicago Department of Public Health has issued a new warning following a local increase in cases of invasive bacterial meningococcosis.
So far in 2024, there have been eight cases of invasive meningococcal disease in Chicago. In 2023, there were seven cases, but from 2017 to 2022 there were only one to three cases.
