Henry Ford Health System Initiates COVID-19 Vaccine Trial | News
From Wednesday, the first batch of Michigan citizens will receive the first dose of a potential vaccine that has shown promise in preventing COVID-19.
The investigational drug is currently in its third stage, after being shown to be harmless to the human body and strong enough to kill the virus, and will be injected into 5,000 citizens and 30,000 people nationwide.
Human testing is conducted in 90 different medical systems, but only in Henry Ford Health in Michigan.

With millions of infectious diseases and hundreds of thousands of people dying around the world, now that we have the vaccine, we have started our investigation We hope it will be approved in the future. Human trials of potential vaccine against COVID-19 launched at Henry Ford Health
Currently, in its third stage, a vaccine that protects against coronaviruses is being tested on 30,000 citizens nationwide, including 5,000 in Michigan. Henry Ford Health is in control of Michigan.
The promising drug identified as Moderna mRNA-1273 will be administered to half of the participants and the other half to placebo. Called a double-blind test, it requires 2 injections, 5 appointments, and at least 2 years of physical examination.
After injection, participants are carefully monitored for symptoms and tested for the production of antibodies needed to protect against the virus.
“I’m really excited to try to find the answer. I think we’re all so eager to end this nightmare. I’m myself and the vaccine is the only way I think I’m excited to leave it because I can move forward,” said one 24-year-old from Taylor.
Many vaccines often include injecting only a small portion of the targeted virus into the body, but the Moderna test has a genetic code that tells the cell how to actually make the protein. The protein is believed to help the body’s immune system build antibodies to protect it from the virus.
