Pamplin Media Group-Estacada confirms additional case of COVID-19
According to an OHA report released on August 5, a total of 24 cases of COVID-19 have occurred in Estacada.
In the city of Estacada, seven new COVID-19 cases occurred between July 26 and August 1.
The Oregon Health Authority report released Wednesday, August 5th, shows 24 cases of COVID-19 in the 97023 postcode, including the city of Estacada. Last week’s report showed 17 cases of the virus in the same zip code.
According to the OHA, 97022 ZIP Codes, including Eagle Creek, have stayed in 1-9 cases over the past few weeks.
Across the state, 33,918 Oregon people were tested for the virus during the week of July 27. Of this number, 6.4% gave a positive result. Not all positive tests represent new cases, as some are from specimens collected from individuals who were already counted as estimated cases.
In the week of July 27, OHA recorded new 2278 cases of COVID-19 infection, and reported that 39 Oregon died. Last week, 27 people died.
The percentage of positive reactions increased from 5.1% to 6.4%.
According to the OHA, the highest age group of reported infections is in young adults aged 20 to 29. Mortality increases with age. Of the 328 Oregon people who died since the outbreak began, 152 were at least 80 and 238 were at least 70.
Cumulatively reported COVID-19 cases across the state amount to 19,366, or 45, cases per 10,000 Oregon.
