Less is more when it comes to treating three types of cancer, according to a new study.
The researchers are reporting their findings at the world's largest cancer conference, currently taking place in Chicago.
It has been said that cancer research once focused on everything we could do to help patients.
Researchers are now studying outcomes for patients who received fewer treatments, including surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
They specifically studied ovarian cancer, esophageal cancer, and Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Patients who received less invasive treatments had similar results to those who received treatment for longer periods, proving that fewer treatments can make patients' lives easier without compromising results.
US cows vaccinated against avian influenza
There is a new vaccine to combat bird flu outbreaks among dairy cows.
The Department of Agriculture plans to start vaccinating calves next month.
The vaccine was developed by the University of Pennsylvania and is similar to the mRNA vaccines made for humans in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The avian influenza virus has spread to more animal species in many countries since 2020. It was first detected in dairy cows in the United States in March.
At least three people who worked on the farm with the infected cows also contracted avian flu.
Deadly bacteria found in Creserac formula
There are warnings that some baby formulas may contain deadly bacteria.
The Food and Drug Administration said samples of Creserac infant formula tested positive for Cronobacter, the same bacteria linked to the deaths of two infants in 2022 from formula made at an Abbott plant in Michigan.
Last week, the company voluntarily recalled Creselac and another brand, Pharmalac, because they had not been approved by the FDA for sale in the United States.
