WHO announces that a Mexican man has died from a strain of bird flu not previously seen in humans
Washington — The World Health Organization said Wednesday that the cause of the man's death in Mexico was a strain of bird flu called H5N2 that has not previously been identified in humans.

The WHO said the risk to the Mexican population was low and that no new cases had been found so far, despite testing people who had come into contact with the dead at home and in hospital.
