Mayor Eric Garsetti said the latest initiative is to add a small kiosk to the local neighborhood in partnership with the testing firm Curative, making the testing experience much like using a self-service vending machine. I am trying. The company is currently running a test program at a kiosk in Berkeley. Another plan to add testing comes from a mobile van that drives around the city to provide testing services.
Meanwhile, LA County has passed the milestones of 200,000 cases, approaching 5,000 deaths. The county reported 3,290 new cases and 48 new deaths on Thursday. Confused by reports of a large party at a hill mansion, Mayor Eric Garcetti announced new measures to crack down on party houses and other facilities that violate health orders.
According to Garcetti, if a large party is held at home or in business in violation of health directives, the Department of Hydropower will be authorized to suspend utility services at the facility.
The shutdown will take place after police confirm that a large illegal party is being held. The shutdown process can take up to 48 hours.
“These big house parties are essentially hill nightclubs,” Garcetti said.
Garsetti clarified that the order was not intended for small home gatherings.
“These are focused on those who decide to break the rules and pose a serious public risk and threat to all of us,” Garsetti said.
More than one million coronavirus tests were performed in the city of Los Angeles and 1.8 million in the county, the mayor said. The positive rate for these tests is about 10% in counties and 7.1% in cities. Overall, the city has seen fewer cases and hospitalizations since its peak in mid-July, he said.

LA County COVID-19 Cases Underreported Due to state technical issues, But the issue did not affect hospitalization data, which said county officials continued to decline.
The team is currently working with 81 labs to get the coronavirus test results from July 26 to the present and work to get the correct number of positive cases during that period. Authorities said the lab has implemented a system that “positively” reports positive test results to the department to ensure accurate counts and help contact traces.
Chief of Health, California’s chief of health, Mark Gurley, director of health and welfare, said Tuesday that technical issues have delayed the compilation of California coronavirus test results.
“This issue underestimates the county’s positive cases and impacts the number of COVID-19 cases reported daily and our contact tracking efforts,” says LA County Public Health. The bureau statement said.
Authorities added that lag should not delay patient test results, as test results are reported directly to health care providers and hospitals.
“The Department of Public Health has been pointing out problems with the state’s electronic laboratory reporting system for about two weeks,” the county said. “When the data reporting issue is fixed, the number of cases is expected to increase.”
Hospitalization data were not affected by technical issues, the county official said. There were 1,757 confirmed cases in the hospital, 31% of which are in the ICU. Last week, daily hospitalization was over 2,000 patients last week.
“We continue to be cautiously optimistic that hospitalization data in Los Angeles County is still showing declines, and our efforts over the past few weeks may have begun to slow down expansion,” said the Director of Health. Said Barbara Ferrer in a statement.

Officials say the number has begun to decline slightly in Los Angeles County after a surge in coronavirus infections in mid-July. The county’s overall case rate is still higher than in early July and high enough to remain on the state’s watch list-but not about two weeks ago, and Dr. Barbara Ferrer, county health director. Said.
The county started in July, with an average of about 2,300 new cases per day, she said. Since then, the number has skyrocketed in mid-July, far exceeding 3,000 per day. But by the end of the month, the average had dropped to about 2,500 daily. Ferrer said this is an indicator that business closures and mask enforcement measures helped limit spreads.
Based on the county’s population, the incident rate is about 355 per 100,000, down from 400 last week’s 100,000. But she said the number would have to drop below 100 per 100,000 to be removed from the state’s watch list.
“There are still ways to reduce infections in the community,” Ferrer said.
Sunday Update: August 2, 2020
Los Angeles police officers are playing their role in slowing the spread of the coronavirus by handing out Hollywood Boulevard masks Sunday morning.

And on Sunday, health officials reported 23 more deaths from the coronavirus and 1,476 new cases in Los Angeles County. To date, authorities have confirmed a total of 192,167 positive cases and a total of 4,692 deaths.
